Pianist, Pedagogue and Musicologist
Young Spanish pianist, María Badías, has been working since 2017 at the piano department of Mozarteum University in Salzburg as an assistant to her teacher, Prof. Stan Ford.
In this institution, one of the main cradles of classical music today, Maria is fortunate to be able to teach children and teenagers from the Pre-College department, as well as students of complementary piano and bachelor students in piano pedagogy. Since 2019, she is also assisting in the tasks of organization and coordination at the department for complementary piano.
María began her studies at the Conservatorio Profesional de MúsicaMiguel Fleta in Monzón with Juan Fernando Moreno, and, in 2010 she graduated with Daniel Ligorio at the Conservatorio Superior de Música del Liceo in Barcelona with the specialization of Piano. Afterwards, she obtained her Master’s degree in Musicology at the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, and in 2018, the Artistic Bachelor Degree in Piano Pedagogy at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg.
In 2017 and 2018, she also worked at the Research and Financing department in Mozarteum, being part of the “knowledge transfer-project” group where she had the opportunity to realize and lead several important projects in the university, highlighting: “Lodron Project: Mozart concerto for three pianos and orchestra” and “Temperamento: Zarzuela und Wiener Operette ”. https://livestream.com/unimozarteumsalzburg/temperamento
As a professional pianist, she has a duo with Canadian soprano Chelsea Kolic, and frequently, plays two pianos with her husband Zamir Kabo. They perform many concerts in the Austrian and Spanish territory. As a soloist, she has been awarded with a scholarship by the Rotary Club and has received advice from great professors such as Ramón Coll, Jacques Rouvier, Joaquín Soriano and Guillermo González, among others.
María can carry out her classes in the Spanish language, Catalan, English or German.
